Your GPA and GRE get you past the filter. Your essay is where a committee decides they actually want you.

Admissions readers go through thousands of personal statements, and most of them blur together — the same "I shadowed a PA and knew" arc, the same safe sentences. The hard part isn't writing 5,000 characters. It's writing 5,000 characters that sound like you, make your weaknesses work for you, and read like someone who understands what a PA actually is. That's exactly the read most applicants never get.

What $19 gets you

A full edit — not a spell-check.

Every essay gets the same complete pass, returned as a tracked-changes document you can actually learn from.

✍️

Line-by-line edits

Grammar, flow, word choice, and tightening — every sentence made clearer and stronger, tracked so you see every change.

🧭

Structure & narrative arc

Does your story build? I fix openings that bury the lead, endings that fizzle, and middles that lose the reader.

🩺

The "does this sound like a PA?" check

The single thing that sinks essays: sounding like a future physician or nurse. I flag it where a committee will.

💬

Margin comments that teach

I explain the why behind each change, so your next draft — and every supplemental after — gets stronger on its own.

🎯

Your voice, kept

I edit and sharpen — I don't ghostwrite. Committees can smell a bought essay. This stays unmistakably yours.

Who's editing it Jono Lippman, PA-C

Your essay lands on my desk — not a team's, not an AI's.

I'm Jono Lippman, PA-C — an emergency medicine PA and the founder of PA Guide. When you send in your essay, I'm the one who reads it and edits it, personally, start to finish. No handoff to a contractor, no template, no software. Just one PA who's sat where you're sitting, reading your story line by line.

I applied to PA school as a career-changer with a weak medical background, married with a one-year-old at home. On paper, I was easy to pass over — my essay had to do the heavy lifting, and it did. I got in, served as class president, co-directed a student-run clinic, and finished strong without letting school cost me my family or my health. When your weaknesses are the exact thing a committee will fixate on, you need someone who knows how to turn them into your story. That's the read I'll give yours.

Every essay is edited by me, personally

Questions

Good things to ask.

Which essays can you edit?
Your CASPA personal statement and program-specific supplemental essays. If you're not sure whether something qualifies, just ask before you buy — I'll tell you straight.
How fast is the turnaround?
Within five days of receiving your essay, and usually sooner. If you're up against a hard application deadline, message me first and I'll let you know if I can meet it.
Will you rewrite it for me?
No — and you wouldn't want me to. Admissions committees can spot a ghostwritten essay, and it's the fastest way to sound like everyone else. I edit, sharpen, and push you to make it stronger, but it stays in your voice and your story.
How do I send my essay, and how do I get it back?
After checkout you'll get an email with a link to submit your essay — a Google Doc or Word file works. It comes back as a tracked-changes document with margin comments you can accept, tweak, or push back on.
Is there a word or character limit?
The $19 covers a full personal statement (CASPA's 5,000-character limit) or a standard supplemental essay. Much longer than that? Ask and we'll sort it out.
Do you guarantee I'll get in?
No one honestly can — admissions depends on far more than the essay. What I guarantee is that yours will be the strongest, clearest, most you version it can be before it goes out.
I bought PA Guide Lifetime — how do I claim my free edit?
Forward your PA Guide Lifetime receipt along with your essay and I'll take it from there — no separate $19 needed. See Lifetime →
Why is this only $19?
Honestly? Editing essays isn't my business — PA Guide is. This is priced to be a no-brainer so we can meet now, while you're applying, and be the resource you already trust once you're in and studying for boards.

Send in the essay that gets you in.
